History

Queen of the Miraculous Medal School was founded in 1940 by the Dominican Sisters of Adrian. The school began with eight classrooms over the original basement church on the corner of Morrell and Bowen streets. As the parish grew, so did the school until in 1963 the school had eight grades, 24 classrooms and served 1,181 children.

In 1971 upon the founding of the Jackson Catholic Middle School, Queen's School began to serve students in the first through sixth grades only. With the addition of Kindergarten to our program in 1985, Queen's became the configuration that it is today. At present our school serves an enrollment of 320 boys and girls in Kindergarten through sixth grades. The school continues its very strong Catholic tradition, although it is no longer served by religious sisters. An excellent state-certified lay faculty of 24 dedicated men and women work together to educate the students entrusted to their care.
