Dear Parents,
I would like to thank all who have registered their children for next year.
This is an exciting time of year for us in school administration. We are seeing marked improvement in the students this year and are planning for the upcoming year. However, it can also be a rather anxious time for us because we need to make decisions about staffing and classrooms for the upcoming year. As principal, I need to let the staff know if they will have a position for next year. The current projections call for the reduction of two staff members, and fewer students enrolled would mean further cuts. Because these decisions need to be made in a fair and timely manner, I am setting some deadlines.
Deadline for registration April 30
If you intend to have your children in our school next year, we need to know by then, through your registration online at FACTS. I ask that those who are moving away or not returning notify the school office by April 30. If you are awaiting notification for financial aid, we ask that you register, and, if we cannot come to a mutually agreeable financial situation, your registration fee will be refunded.
In the week following April 30, staffing decisions will be made based on the registered enrollment, and after that date we cannot guarantee a place for your child. Currently, we have only one grade with a full class.
Tuition Discount for Full Payment
If you pay your tuition in full by July 1, you will receive a 2% discount. After July 1, it will be a 1% discount. Just a reminder, if you are paying in full, it must be done prior to August 25. You can also pay the registration fee in the office, but we ask that be done by April 30. (This is for full-tuition payees only.)
These are challenging times. I ask you to be People of Hope as our bishop exhorted us. The reality is that to maintain the status quo of this year, we need $100,000 more to come from increased enrollment or new funds. Many people are working behind the scenes to help that happen, including:
the staff; forgoing their raises;
the Ambassadors Group through their work with families who have visited the school, and
through their commercial spots on JTV;
the Mens Club & PTO through their continuing support of school projects;
the Education Commission through a new telemarketing campaign to QMMS alumni; and
the Financial and Pastoral Councils through one of our newest initiatives, the Miraculous
Medal Society as set forth in the April parish newsletter.
I am asking you also assist us, and here are some possible ways:
by spreading the good word about our school;
inviting others to enroll their children here;
registering before the deadline;
paying more of the cost to educate your child ($4377) (You can make this donation through
the Education Assistance Envelopes or the Miraculous Medal Society.);
supporting the activities of parish groups who give to the school.
Every additional dollar raised, every new student enrolled, brings us closer to our goal.
Catholic education for your children is one of the wonderful gifts you can give them and it is certainly a priceless investment. The parish, the school staff and I want to continue offering this opportunity. With Gods help and all of us working together we can accomplish this even in challenging times.
Sincerely yours in Christ,
Ruth Ann Benner
Principal
